God has called us to the country of Uganda. It is a country that is located on the northern edge of Lake Victoria, the large lake in Africa that is the source of the Nile. It is a beautiful country filled with much wildlife and varying types of terrain. It has suffered much in its past history but is now emerging as a country ready to grow into a major role in Africa as well as the world. God has been doing a great work there and there is much freedom to teach and preach the gospel. There is, however, still much to do. Please pray that God will allow His Word to have free course in this country to affect the hearts of men for His glory and that the Holy Spirit would do His work to quicken and revive.
Welcome to the Olachea family website! We are currently working in Kampala, Uganda teaching in a Bible college so that we can eventually have a translation institute here for all the tribes of Uganda. We are also continuing to help facilitate the Runyankore translation in Mbarara. Please pray as we start this new ministry here that we are praying will reach many of the tribes in Uganda with their own translation.
1 Peter 1:23
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever."
We believe church planting to be the main goal of missions. We also believe that the Bible, the only authority on belief and practice, is a crucial element in church planting. God has called us to a ministry in Bible translation/revision. By giving the Scriptures to the people in their own language, we hope to enable the establishment of Bible-believing, New Testament Baptist churches. The Bible is the only book "profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." It is the way the unsaved will be brought to the Savior and the way Christians will grow in Christ.
Our translation philosophy is: "As literal as possible, as free as necessary." We believe the words of God to be inspired, and, with God's help, want to preserve His Words in the Runyankore language.
